Baton Rouge really comes to life during the Christmas season: The streets are filled with lights, and everywhere you turn, someone is telling you “happy holidays” or “Merry Christmas.” Christmas in Baton Rouge is even better when you attend the Holiday Shop Hop and Champagne Stroll. The annual event will take place on Dec. 7 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. right outside of the Capitol Park Museum. If you love shopping, drinking, and having a good time, you can’t beat this festive event.
The Holiday Shop Hop
First, let’s look at the Holiday Shop Hop. This annual event makes it easy to get all of your Christmas shopping done. Around 30 vendors will set up shop outside of the museum. The mobile pop-up booths will contain the best items the vendors have to offer. Restaurants will also be on site, so be sure to stop by and see what is available. You’ll likely walk away with a Christmas present or two, along with some tasty treats. That’s a pretty good way to spend the day, isn’t it?
Just wait, though. It gets better.
The Champagne Stroll
The Champagne Stroll follows the Holiday Shop Hop, starting at the Capitol Park Museum. You will stroll around for a bit, stopping at some area hotels to sip champagne. After you wander around for a while, you’ll end back at the museum. The proceeds will benefit the Red Stick Revelry New Year’s Eve Celebration, so when you attend, you’re also supporting a good cause.
Exactly what is the New Year’s Eve Celebration, you ask? It’s just the biggest New Year’s Eve celebration in all of Baton Rouge. It has activities for the kids during the day and live music in the evening. Oh, there are also fireworks over the Mississippi River. You’ll drink champagne to that, won’t you?
Drinking champagne is fun, but you’ll want to skip the bottle today so you can head down to Brian Harris Chevrolet in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We have the entire lineup up Chevrolets, and they’re ready to go home today. Stop by and take one out for a spin around Baton Rouge. It won’t be long before you fall in love with a new vehicle.
