Get Ready for the Baton Rouge Blues Festival

Baton Rouge Blues Festival

You love playing your music collection full of the blues, but you know nothing beats listening to the blues live. Of course, it’s not every day the blues comes to town, so you don’t often get the chance to hear tons of blues music in one spot. Well, you’re about to get your chance. The 2018 Baton Rouge Blues Festival will be on April 13–14. The festival runs from noon to 10 p.m. both days and is free to the public, although you have the option to upgrade to the VIP All-Weekend Experience Pass for $200. The pass includes complimentary food and drinks, access to a VIP room, and more.

Whether you get the VIP pass or just come for free, you’re in for two days of fun. Head to North Boulevard Town Square to enjoy this festival.

Now, let’s look at the lineup.

The Lineup

Here’s what’s so cool about the Baton Rouge Festival. It has local blues legends and international performers in one spot. That means you can enjoy some local flavor while also hearing some of the best blues artists in the world.

First, Mavis Staples is going to be there. Yes, seriously, THE Mavis Staples. She’s a member of both the Blues Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and is going to perform right here in the Red Stick. How cool is that?

Then, there’s the James Hunter Six. James Hunter has been active since the 1980s and hit it big in 2006 with “People Gonna Talk.” You are probably familiar with the band’s song “This Is Where We Came In.” It’s such a big hit that it was even featured on the show Superstore.

Oh, and Samantha Fish will be there as well. A singer, songwriter, and guitarist, she has the blues in her soul. She might be from Missouri, but you would think she came straight from New Orleans. Her music does include a little roots rock too, though, so it’s fun and unique. She won the “Best New Artist Debut” award at the 2012 Blues Music Awards in Memphis, and her songs have made it onto various charts.

This is just a little look at who will be there. It will be two days full of music, and as you can see, it’s going to be a rip-roaring good time.

The Baton Rouge Blues Festival is going to be a blast. When it’s over, you might feel a little let down. After all, you just had the time of your life, so what’s next? Avoid getting the blues by hopping in a new vehicle from Brian Harris Chevrolet in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Your new Chevrolet will be able to take you anywhere you want to go. There will be no reason to feel the blues when you have a new Chevrolet.
